Academy 1st part
Academy is education, therefore it enhances the technology that you already have, and it works the same here in evony. Upgrading the Academy doesn’t hurt, since something is always returned to you everytime you finished an upgrade(reward). Another point is it is very important, because you have to upgrade your technology from resources to battle. So, I’m going discuss each upgrade so that you’ll get a better understanding.
Agriculture- food production is better enhanced every time you research this. it’s as important as anything important on this game. 
You don’t fight on an empty stomach do yah?
Lumbering – you’re provided more wood every time you research this, lumber is very important since almost in all transactions or upgrades lumber is needed. Therefore, you have to research this one too.
Masonry – stone production is better enhanced on this one, on the later part of the game you’ll be needing stones to create stronger defense. Walls need lots of stones too, but I believe there are more important things to prioritize.
Mining – iron production is increased every time you research on this one, iron is important in creating your troops, therefore to create a strong offense better do something about your iron so production of troops will be faster.
Metal Casting – increases your production speed on mechanics, this is very important since mechanics comes strong in battles, so the more mechs you create the more stronger you become, a max level is recommended.
Informatics – “The higher the upgrade the more information you gain.” As they say defense is the best offense, this doesn’t help you at the offense, but you get to gain information about your attacker, so the higher you research the effectiveness of your defense will be further enhanced.
Military Science – “This speeds up your training period.” So, basically the more troops the better, you can conquer and defend yourself more if you create faster troops than you enemies.
Military Tradition – This enhances your attack, therefore for defense or offense, you need this one, so better enhance this one or you’ll get to be defeated easilly if you won’t do anything about this either.
Iron Working – Army’s defense, you’ll be needing this since if you don’t research this you’ll be infiltrated easilly, since you don’t have a strong defense for that matter.
For now that will be it, for the first part and I’ll be continuing this as soon as I can, think twice of what to research before yo do something else.
